support Principals in the delivery of quality Catholic Education to students in Aotearoa New Zealand Catholic Primary Schools.
2. OBJECTIVES - what we will achieve
2.1.1 To structure a National forum through which Diocesan Association concerns can be
represented and through which National Policy can be
developed.
2.1.2 To promote the development of competent, well-informed and confident primary
principals.
2.1.3 To support the development of Catholic Schools by
(a)
Promoting effective Principal/Board
working relationships
(b)
Fostering a professional, collegial
support network for Principals of
Catholic Schools.
2.1.4 To initiate and participate in educational debate and policy development
3. STRATEGY - how we will
achieve our objectives
3.1 Structure
a National Forum through which diocesan association concerns can be represented
and through which national policy can be developed.
3.1.1 Communicate through newsletters.
3.1.2 Provide the Constitution to all members.
3.1.3 Provide information through a national organisation.
3.1.4 Maintain the Website.
3.2 Promote the development of competent, well-informed and
confident primary principals.
3.2.1 Co-ordinate overseas keynote speakers.
3.2.2 Link into providers of Religious tertiary education.
3.2.3 Elect a liaison person for specific tasks initiated by the
Executive.
3.2.4 Maintain working relationships with NZCEO.
3.2.5 Provide guidance where required for local Principal associations.
3.2.6 Maintain communication with schools.
3.2.7 Contact Australian Catholic Principals attending NZPF conference for
contact to host Australian Principals.
3.2.8 Establish a link with Pacific Catholic school principals.
3.2.9 Assist professional development through the provision of Awards and Scholarships.
3.2.10 Promote a range of regional training opportunities for principals
and aspiring principals.
3.2.11 To co-ordinate "road shows" of visiting Catholic speakers to have
access to all.
3.3 Support
the development of Catholic Schools by:
(a)
promoting effective
principal/board working relationships.
(b)
fostering a
professional, collegial support network for Principals of Catholic Schools.
3.3.1 Promote BOT diocesan training.
3.3.2 Assist diocesan associations to develop supportive constructive
networks.
3.3.3 Identify and promote Catholic personnel with advocacy and counseling
skills.
3.4
Initiate and participate
in educational debate and policy development.
3.4.1 Contact members prior to national meetings to give them an
opportunity for
comments/queries to be addressed/represented.
3.4.2 Encourage principals with the promotion of Maori achievement.
3.4.3 Promote Te Reo and Tikanga Maori.
3.4.4 Maintain communication with relevant education agencies.
